10-4-23 THOUGHTS
Some excerpts from early Isaiah this morning. A sanctified people living in peace with God as their king, is God’s view of His people in the last days. If we begin to think physically, we miss the point. It’s a picture of God’s love overcoming evil. It’s a view of God’s change in the end. The Church begins this process as the everlasting kingdom. The WORD did go forth out of Jerusalem in Acts 2. The Good News is the resurrected Messiah! Peace has been made! Christ Jesus is in heaven with His Father, interceding for us, and we await His return when things will change forever in the direction of our reading. We must be careful not to be wise in our own eyes.
Isa 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.
Isa 2:1-5 The word which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. 3 And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war. 5 Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. [see Micah 4:1-4]
Isa 5:20-21 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!
Luke 24:47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
My Prayer:
Lord, teach us Your ways that we may walk in Your Light! Teach us good and evil, and to discern between the two always. May we never call evil good and good evil. May we teach this world the peace of Your love. May our business be about souls steaming into Your House. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
